I have found using Social Networking sites like Twitter and Facebook also helps to promote my blog posts. I thing I have learned is to keep the blog updated regularly. It doesn't necessarily have to be daily, however 6 week gaps b/w posts doesn't help keep the core audience you have created.

Joel great post that's applicable to the universe of blogging, not just about real estate. The best bloggers have something unique to say and/or a new way to say it.

Diane´s last blog post..Jan 31, Vegan Recipes

Thanks for the comments Heather & Carrie.

Carrie - I know exactly what you're talking about but resist the temptation to go to the "dark side". They're playing a quantity vs. quality game & in the long run, quality will prevail.

I'm still struggling with finding my voice. Seems like so many of the top ranked real estate/realtor blogs are nothing but market reports and bits of info only a realtor would care about, but since they're "top ranked" that must be what I'm supposed to be blogging about, right?

Wow - great, great post and so true. I am fortunate to live in an area I am passionate about so it's a breeze to write "from the heart"

There's been a song around for years called "Come From The Heart". As both a professional Musician and a Realtor it applies.

You gotta sing (write) like you don't need the money
Love like you'll never get hurt
You gotta dance like nobody's watching
You gotta come from heart if you want it to work

Cheers!
